ANGELS ACQUIRE OF JOSH LOWE IN THREE-TEAM TRADE
ANAHEIM – The Angels today acquired OF Josh Lowe from the Tampa Bay Rays as part of a three-team trade. In the deal, the Rays will receive minor league RHP Chris Clark from the Angels and INF/OF Gavin Lux from the Cincinnati Reds, who will acquire LHP Brock Burke.
Lowe, 27, batted .220 (87/396) with 56 runs scored, 21 doubles, two triples, 11 home runs, 40 RBI, and 18 stolen bases in 108 games with Tampa Bay in 2025. A native of Chesapeake, VA, Lowe was originally selected by the Rays with the 13th overall pick of the 2016 Draft from Pope HS (Marietta, GA) and made his Major League debut with Tampa Bay on Sept. 8, 2021. In 2023, he became the youngest player in Rays franchise history to hit at least 20 home runs and steal at least 30 bases, and was only the second Rays player to also hit at least 30 doubles in the same season. Across five Major League seasons, he has batted .250 (349/1397) with 188 runs scored, 85 doubles, eight triples, 43 home runs, 170 RBI, 79 stolen bases, and a .721 OPS in 403 career games.
Burke, 29, posted a 7-1 record and 3.36 ERA (61.2 IP – 23 ER) with 52 strikeouts across 69 appearances for the Angels in 2025. He owns a 21-12 record and 3.88 ERA (264.1 – 114 ER) in 214 career games with the Rangers and Angels. He was claimed by the Angels off waivers from Texas on August 13, 2024.
Clark, 24, pitched to a 7-24 record with a 5.25 ERA (269.0 – 157 ER) with 277 strikeouts across three minor league seasons in the Angels organization. He split the 2025 season between Low-A Inland Empire, High-A Tri-City and Double-A Rocket City. Clark was selected by the Angels in the fifth round (147th overall) of the 2023 First-Year Player Draft.
