ANGELS ANNOUNCE 2026 TEAM AWARD WINNERS

ANAHEIM – Today the Angels announced the winners of the 2026 Angels Most Valuable Player and Nick Adenhart Pitcher of the Year Award. OF Mike Trout was voted by his teammates as the 2026 Angels team MVP and RHP Walbert Ureña was selected as the Nick Adenhart Pitcher of the Year. This is the franchise record 10^th team MVP Award for Trout (also, 2012-2020), and Ureña’s first time receiving Pitcher of the Year honors. Ureña also becomes the first rookie to win the Nick Adenhart Pitcher of the Year Award.

Awarded by vote of the players to the Angels player who most truly exemplifies the qualities of inspirational leadership, sportsmanship and professional ability, Trout enters play on Saturday leading the Angels with a .762 OPS and 99 walks, the latter of which ranks tied for second-most in the American League. He has totaled 25 doubles, 21 home runs, 53 RBI and 11 stolen bases on the season. Trout was named an American League All-Star for the 12^th time in his career, the most selections among active players. On April 26, Trout homered to become the Angels all-time leader in extra-base hits, and on August 25, Trout doubled to record his ninth career season with at least 20 doubles, 20 HR, and 10 stolen bases (2012-19, 2026), leading all active players.

The Nick Adenhart Pitcher of the Year Award was established in 2009 in memory of Angels pitcher Nick Adenhart. The award is given to the Angels pitcher whose Major League performance is selected by his teammates as the most outstanding throughout the course of the regular season. Ureña, 22, is the youngest pitcher in franchise history to be named the Nick Adenhart Pitcher of the Year and enters Saturday leading the Angels pitching staff with a 2.74 ERA across 144.1 innings pitched. Ureña also leads the Halos with a .203 opponent batting average and .596 OPS against, and his 140 strikeouts are the second-most by an Angel in their first Major League season in franchise history (Bo Belinsky; 145). Among Major League rookies, Ureña ranks third in BAA and OPS against, fourth in ERA and quality starts (14), and fifth in innings pitched, wins, and strikeouts. On the season, Ureña’s 2.22 ERA at Angel Stadium ranks as the lowest home ERA in the American League.

Trout and Ureña will be recognized in a pregame ceremony tonight, Saturday, September 19, before the Angels face the Minnesota Twins.
