Astros win first AL pennant in franchise history, advance to World Series

HOUSTON, TX-- The Astros punched their ticket to the 2017 World Series tonight by closing out the New York Yankees, 4-0, in a dramatic Game 7 of the American League Championship Series. This marks the Astros first World Series appearance since 2005, and their first American League pennant in franchise history.
ASTROS TEAM STORE OPENS FOR 24-HOUR AL PENNANT CLINCH EVENT
Today's win officially kicks off the Astros Team Store 24-Hour AL Pennant Clinch Event. The AL Pennant Clinch Event will open one hour after the final out at the Union Station Team Store and will remain open to the public for 24 hours. This special retail event is the very first opportunity for Astros fans to purchase their 2017 Astros American League Champion merchandise.
The Astros Union Station Team Store will host several special activities throughout the shopping event, including hourly drawings, gifts-with-purchase, free coffee and doughnuts, games, merchandise giveaways, and a grand prize of a $500 shopping spree at the Astros Team Store.
Astros Vice President of Merchandising and Retail Operations Tom Jennings will be available to media for the next two hours in the Union Station Team Store.
2017 WORLD SERIES INFORMATION
Games 1 and 2 of the 2017 World Series will take place in Los Angeles on Tuesday and Wednesday, Oct. 24-25 when the Astros take on the LA Dodgers. Both games will air exclusively on FOX, with first pitch slated for 5:09 p.m. CT both nights. Fans can catch all Astros postseason games on the radio on the Astros flagship radio station 790 KBME AM, in Spanish on ESPN Deportes 1230 AM or on ESPN radio.
The Astros return home to Minute Maid Park on Friday, Oct. 27 for Game 3 of the World Series, which is scheduled to begin at 7:09 p.m. CT. Games 4 and 5 of the World Series will continue on Saturday and Sunday, Oct. 28-29, with first pitches slated for 7:09 p.m. CT and 7:16 p.m. CT, respectively.
POSTSEASON WATCH PARTIES AND WORLD SERIES HOME GAME TICKETS
Fans are invited to watch every Astros Postseason away game at Minute Maid Park, free of charge, at the Astros Postseason Watch Parties. Fans will need to claim a free Postseason Watch Party voucher for entry at www.astros.com/postseason or at any of the Postseason Watch Party entrances the day of the event. Parking will be available for purchase in all Astros-controlled parking lots. The fun will begin two hours before first pitch with a Postseason Street Fest on Crawford Street, where fans can enjoy live music, food trucks, bar games, inflatables and much more. Games will stream live on the main video board inside Minute Maid Park as well as on large projection screens outside the ballpark.
