Oakland A's set 30-man roster for trip to Japan
The Oakland Athletics have announced the 30-man roster that will be traveling to Japan.
Players on the 30-man roster will be eligible to play in the two exhibition games vs. the Nippon Ham Fighters (March 17 & 18).
The A's will then set a 28-man roster prior to the Japan Opening Series games vs. the Mariners (March 20 & 21).
Here are some specifics on the roster situation for the series vs. the Mariners:
Only 25 of the 28 players on the roster will be eligible to play in the games.
Players on the 28-man roster do not have to physically be in Japan.
Players on the 28-man roster must be on the 40-man roster.
Three of the players of the 28 must be designated as not eligible to participate in the two-game series. Those players do not have to travel to Japan to be on the 28-man roster.
