Braves trade RHP Jim Johnson

The Atlanta Braves today announced the club acquired minor league LHP Justin Kelly from the Los Angeles Angels in exchange for RHP Jim Johnson and international pool space.
Kelly, 24, pitched at five levels of the Angels' system last season, compiling a 6-4 record with a 3.53 ERA (25 ER/63.2 IP) in 25 games, six starts. He made his professional debut in 2016 after the Angels selected him out of UC Santa Barbara in the 33rd round of the First-Year Player Draft that season.
Johnson, 34, converted 22 of 31 save opportunities for Atlanta last season, while compiling a 6-3 record and a 5.56 ERA (35 ER/56.2 IP) in 61 games out of the bullpen. The righty joined the Braves in 2015 and over 175 games in an Atlanta uniform, Johnson had 51 saves and a 3.67 ERA (69 ER/169.1 IP).
