McCann hit .241 (84x349) with 18 home runs and 62 RBI in 97 games behind the dish for Houston in 2017. He followed his regular season up with a solid postseason, as he started 17 of the Astros 18 playoff games at catcher, connecting for one home run and seven RBI in those contests. By connecting for 18 regular season home runs, McCann became just the sixth catcher in Major League history to have 12 seasons with at least 15 homers. A 13-year Major League veteran, he currently ranks eighth on MLB's all-time home runs list by a catcher (250).
Kalas is making his debut on Astroline as the veteran broadcaster enters his second season as the Astros lead play-by-play television broadcaster. Kalas, who is the son of Hall of Famer and former Astros broadcaster Harry Kalas, has over 25 seasons of experience as a broadcaster in professional baseball. Prior to joining the Astros, he spent his previous 19 seasons (1998-2016) as part of the Tampa Bay Rays TV broadcast team. He also had stints with the New York Mets radio (1992-93) and Philadelphia Phillies television (1994-96) broadcast teams.
