Cincinnati's Ohlendorf disciplined

Cincinnati Reds pitcher Ross Ohlendorf has received a three-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for intentionally throwing a pitch at David Freese of the Pittsburgh Pirates, while warnings were in place for both teams, in the top of the ninth inning of Wednesday night's game at Great American Ball Park in Cincinnati. Joe Garagiola Jr., Senior Vice President of Standards & On-Field Operations for Major League Baseball, made the announcement.
In addition, Reds manager Bryan Price has received a one-game suspension and an undisclosed fine for the intentional actions of Ohlendorf while warnings were in place. Price will serve his suspension tonight, when the Reds are to begin a road series against the Philadelphia Phillies. 
Ohlendorf's suspension had been scheduled to begin tonight at Philadelphia. However, he has elected to file an appeal. Thus, the discipline issued to Ohlendorf will be held in abeyance until the process is complete.
