Cleveland Indians roll out 2018 All-Star Game campaign on Indians.com
Voting for the 2018 MLB All-Star Game is officially underway at Indians.com/vote. This year's All-Star Game, presented by Camping World, will be held Tuesday, July 17th at Nationals Park in Washington, D.C.
Fans can vote for the nine Indians on the ballot by visiting Indians.com/vote. The Tribe's representatives include first baseman Yonder Alonso; second baseman Jason Kipnis; shortstop Francisco Lindor; third baseman Jose Ramirez; catcher Yan Gomes; designated hitter Edwin Encarnacion; and outfielders Michael Brantley, Tyler Naquin and Bradley Zimmer.
The Indians were represented by five players in MLB's 88th Mid-Summer Classic, equaling the most individual selections by any team in the Majors in 2017 along with Houston, New York-AL and Washington. It marked the most selections for Cleveland since 2004 when five players participated in the All-Star Game in Houston.
The Indians have been riding a hot streak into June, as the only team in MLB boasting five players with 30-or-more RBI this season, including All-Star nominees Jose Ramirez (41 RBI), Michael Brantley (36 RBI), Francisco Lindor (34 RBI), Edwin Encarnacion (34 RBI) and Yonder Alonso (33 RBI).
The Indians have slugged 79 home runs this season, the third most in Major League Baseball, and boast the sixth-most runs in MLB this season with 263.
Voting will be conducted exclusively online and via mobile devices at MLB.com, Indians.com and the MLB At Bat and MLB Ballpark mobile apps. Beginning on Friday, June 1st at noon, fans can cast their votes for starters a total of 35 times, with a maximum of five valid ballots cast in any 24-hour period. Fans who vote also have the chance to win a 2019 Freedom Elite Motorhome, valued at over $85,000 from Camping World.
The American League All-Star Team, managed by Houston's A.J. Hinch, will be composed of nine starters via the fan balloting program, and 22 total pitchers and reserves determined through a combination of "Player Ballot" choices and selections made by the Commissioner's Office.
Details regarding the unveiling of the 2018 A.L. and N.L. All-Star Teams will be made available in the coming weeks. Following the announcement of the rosters, fans will get to partake in the final vote for last player added to each League's 32-man roster.
