D-backs Award Avery Owusu-Asiedu and David Hagaman with August Monthly Honors

The Arizona Diamondbacks named Double-A Amarillo OF Avery Owusu-Asiedu and Double-A Amarillo RHP David Hagaman the organization’s Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for August.

AVERY OWUSU-ASIEDU MiLB Bio

• Split the month of August between High-A Hillsboro (7 G) and Double-A Amarillo (18 G)…in 25 games, hit .409 (38-for-93)/1.450 OPS with 6 doubles, 2 triples, 14 homers, 34 RBI, 14 walks and 8 stolen bases.
• Led all D-backs’ farmhands [min. 20 G] in AVG (.409), OBP (.482), SLG (.968), OPS (1.450), hits (38), homers (14), RBI (34), extra-base hits (22), total bases (90) and triples (T-1st, 2).
• Named Texas League Player of the Month for August, batting .435 (30-for-69)/1.561 OPS with 5 doubles, 2 triples, 11 homers, 29 RBI, 12 walks and 5 stolen bases in 18 games with the Sod Poodles after being promoted on August 11.
• Began his Double-A career with homers in his first 4 games from August 11-14, including his second career multi-homer game on August 13 vs. Midland (also: May 29, 2025 vs. Dunedin while with Clearwater).
• With homers in 4 consecutive games from August 11-14 and August 22-26, became the first Double-A player since Will Smith in 2018 with Tulsa to post 2 separate 4-game home run streaks in a single season (h/t: Sod Poodles).
• Recorded a 14-game hitting streak to begin his time in Amarillo from August 11-26, batting .491 (27-for-55)/1.164 OPS with 5 doubles, 1 triple, 10 homers, 26 RBI, 10 walks and 2 stolen bases.
• Ranked among Double-A leaders [min. 15 G] in AVG (1st, .435), OBP (1st, .518), SLG (1st, 1.043), OPS (1st, 1.561), homers (T-1st, 11), RBI (2nd, 29), total bases (2nd, 72), triples (T-2nd, 2) and extra-base hits (T-3rd, 18).
• Hit safely in all 7 games with Hillsboro, batting .333 (8-for-24)/1.120 OPS with 1 double, 3 homers, 5 RBI, 2 walks and 3 stolen bases.
• Acquired on Dec. 19, 2025, from the Phillies for LHP Kyle Backhus.

DAVID HAGAMAN MiLB Bio

• Made 1 start with High-A Hillsboro and 5 starts with Double-A Amarillo in August.
• Led all D-backs’ Minor League starters [min. 4 GS] in strikeouts (48), K/9 (13.79), innings (31.1), IP/G (5.1), wins (T-1st, 2) and quality starts (T-1st, 2).
• His 48 total strikeouts led all Minor League pitchers in the month of August.
• Recorded 10 strikeouts in 3 of his 6 starts (1 with Hillsboro and 2 with Amarillo).
• In 5 starts with Amarillo, went 1-1 with a 2.52 ERA (7 ER in 25.0 IP), an opponent .233 AVG (21-for-90), 10 walks and 38 strikeouts.
• Ranked among Texas League starters [min. 5 GS] in strikeouts (2nd, 38), K/9 (2nd, 13.68), ERA (3rd, 2.52), OPS (4th, .637), homers (T-4th, 2), OPS (5th, .304) and WHIP (5th, 1.24).
• In 6 starts between Hillsboro and Amarillo, went 2-1 with a 2.30 ERA (8 ER in 31.1 IP), opponent .228 AVG (26-for-114), 11 walks and 48 strikeouts.
• Earned the win in his lone start with Hillsboro on August 1 vs. Everett, tossing 6.1 innings with 1 run on 5 hits and 1 walk with 10 strikeouts.
• Acquired on July 31, 2025, from the Rangers with LHP Mitch Bratt and LHP Kohl Drake for RHP Merrill Kelly.
