D-backs Award Cristofer Torin and Spencer Giesting with September Monthly Honors

The Arizona Diamondbacks named INF Cristofer Torin (No. 19 rated prospect) and LHP Spencer Giesting the organization’s Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for September.

CRISTOFER TORIN MiLB Bio

• Hit safely in all 10 games between High-A Hillsboro and Double-A Amarillo, batting .390 (16-for-41)/1.141 OPS with 6 doubles, 2 home runs, 7 RBI, 6 walks and 1 stolen base.
• Ranked among Northwest League leaders in RBI (T-1st, 5), runs (T-1st, 6), total bases (2nd, 16), extra-base hits (T-2nd, 4), home runs (T-2nd, 2), SLG (3rd, .800), OPS (3rd, 1.278), hits (3rd, 8), OBP (6th, .478) and AVG (6th, .400).
• Began the month with the Hops and hit .400 (8-for-20)/1.278 OPS with 2 doubles, 2 homers, 5 RBI and 3 walks in 5 games (4 starts).
• Promoted to Double-A Amarillo on September 9 and hit .381 (8-for-21)/1.011 OPS with 4 doubles, 5 RBI, 3 walks and 1 stolen base in 5 games with the Sod Poodles.
• Hit .424 (14-for-33)/1.227 OPS vs. righties.
• Hit .400 (8-for-20)/1.278 OPS in 5 road games and .381 (8-for-21)/1.011 OPS in 5 home games.

• Went 1-1 with a 3.38 ERA (6 ER in 16.0 IP), opponent .262 AVG (16-for-61), 5 walks and 15 strikeouts in 3 starts (1 quality) with the Aces.
• Ranked among Pacific Coast League leaders in ERA (5th, 3.38), WHIP (T-6th, 1.31) and opponent AVG (.262).
• Tossed 5.0 scoreless innings on 3 hits and 2 walks with 6 strikeouts on September 4 @ Tacoma.
• In 2 road starts, went 1-0 with a 3.60 ERA (4 ER in 10.0 IP), opponent .243 AVG (9-for-37), 4 walks and 10 strikeouts.
• Signed as the D-backs’ 11th-round selection in the 2022 Draft out of UNC Charlotte.
