D-backs Award Kayson Cunningham and Mitch Bratt with May Monthly Honors

The Arizona Diamondbacks named Single-A Visalia INF Kayson Cunningham and Triple-A Reno LHP Mitch Bratt the organization’s Minor League Player and Pitcher of the Month for May.

KAYSON CUNNINGHAM MiLB Bio

• Reached base safely in 16 of his 17 games with the Rawhide, including reaching 2+ times in 11 of those, hitting .360 (27-for-75)/.929 OPS with 5 doubles, 1 triple, 1 home run, 8 RBI, 10 walks and 8 stolen bases.
• Ranked among Single-A May leaders in AVG (6th, .360) and runs (T-9th, 22).
• Ranked among California League May leaders in AVG (5th, .360), runs (6th, 22) and OBP (7th, .435).
• Led all D-backs farmhands for May in AVG (.360).
• Had 9 multi-hit performances, including his first 4-hit game on May 27 @ Ontario.
• Hit his first career homer (2-run) on May 26 @ Ontario.
• Reached base safely in each of his 8 road games, hitting .389 (14-for-36)/1.032 OPS with 3 doubles, 1 homer, 5 RBI, 6 walks and 6 stolen bases.
• Started the month with a 9-game hitting streak, batting .341 (14-for-41)/.839 OPS with 2 doubles, 1 triple, 5 RBI and 4 walks.

• Led Pacific Coast League starters (min. 5 GS) in ERA (2.53), fewest runs allowed (6), WHIP (0.84) and fewest hits allowed (T-1st, 16).
• Led all D-backs’ Minor League starters (min. 5 GS) in fewest runs allowed (6), fewest walks (2), WHIP (0.84) and K/BB ratio (11.00).
• Allowed 4 or fewer hits in each of his 5 starts.
• Held opposing righties to a .200 AVG (10-for-50) with 2 walks and 12 strikeouts and lefties to a .222 AVG (6-for-27)/.444 OPS with 0 walks and 10 strikeouts.
• Tossed 5.0 scoreless innings (3 H, 0 BB, 5 K) in the 2-1 win on May 23 @ Oklahoma City.
• Acquired from the Rangers on July 31, 2025 with LHP Kohl Drake and RHP David Hagaman for RHP Merrill Kelly.
