D-backs optioned Ildemaro Vargas to Triple-A Reno following last night's game

PHOENIX - Following last night's game, the Arizona Diamondbacks optioned INF Ildemaro Vargas to Triple-A Reno. INF Eduardo Escobar (#14), who was acquired yesterday from the Minnesota Twins, will be active for tonight's game in San Diego.
 
Vargas, 27, was recalled from Reno yesterday but did not play.
