Dodgers Activate Blake Treinen
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers have activated right-handed pitcher Blake Treinen from the injured list and placed left-handed pitcher Eric Lauer on the injured list with left elbow inflammation. In order to make room on the 40-man roster, the Dodgers added right-handed pitcher Will Klein to the 60-day injured list.
Treinen, 38, was placed on the injured list on June 20 with right elbow inflammation. He made seven rehab appearances between Low-A Ontario and Triple-A Oklahoma City, posting a 0.00 ERA with eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings. He is 4-1 with a 3.52 ERA in 29 games this season for the Dodgers. He is in his sixth season with the Dodgers, recording a 23-20 record with a 2.84 ERA in 215 games. He has 12 saves in 199.1 innings with 230 strikeouts with the Dodgers. He has been in the Majors 12 years with the Washington Nationals (2014-17), Athletics (2017-19) and Dodgers (2020-), going 49-42 with 83 saves in 560 games. He was drafted out of South Dakota State University by the Athletics in the seventh round of the 2011 First Year Player Draft.
Lauer, 31, allowed seven runs on eight hits in three innings last night against the Cardinals. He is now 7-2 with a 4.50 ERA in 14 games (12 starts) for the Dodgers. He was acquired on May 17 from the Toronto Blue Jays in exchange for cash considerations. He was 1-5 with a 6.69 ERA in eight games for the Blue Jays. Last season, he went 9-2 with a 3.18 ERA, posting a career-best 2.2 fWAR. He has been in the Major Leagues eight seasons with the San Diego Padres (2018-19), Milwaukee Brewers (2020-23), Toronto Blue Jays (2025-26) and Dodgers (2026), posting a 53-46 mark with a 4.28 ERA in 170 games. He was a first round draft pick (25th overall) in the 2016 First Year Player Draft from Kent State University.
