Dodgers Andy Pages, Max Muncy, Shohei Ohtani and Freddie Freeman Named National League All-Stars

LOS ANGELES – Los Angeles Dodgers centerfielder Andy Pages, third baseman Max Muncy, designated hitter Shohei Ohtani and first baseman Freddie Freeman were voted National League All-Star starters for the 96th Midsummer Classic in Philadelphia at Citizens Bank Park. The Dodgers will have four starters in the All-Star Game for the first time since 1980 and have had three or more four times in the last five seasons.

Pages, 25, earned his first All-Star nod after hitting .269 with 16 homers and 62 RBI through the first 88 games. The Cuban-born stalwart is in his third full season and he is tied for second in the National League in RBI while ranking among the best NL outfielders in runs (53, 5th), hits (92, T-6th), doubles (21, T-3rd), homers (T-6th), extra-base hits (38, 3rd), slugging (.477, 9th) and OPS (.807, 13th). Defensively, Pages leads the Majors with 10 outfield assists – six more than any other player – and defensive WAR (1.8). In 360 games for the Dodgers, he has slashed .264/.315/.449 with 56 homers and 194 RBI.

Muncy, 35, heads to his third career All-Star Game and first since 2021 in Colorado. The Texas native is batting .268 with a .362 on-base percentage, 17 homers, 39 RBI and 3.5 bWAR in 82 games this season. He is tied for the NL lead with 17 homers among third basemen while leading NL third basemen in slugging percentage (.511), OPS (.873), bWAR and runs (53). He is in his ninth Major League season with the Dodgers and has swatted 226 homers with 626 RBI. He has posted a 30.6 bWAR during his time with the Dodgers and ranks sixth all-time in regular season homers while leading the franchise with 16 postseason homers all-time.

Ohtani, 30, earns his sixth straight All-Star Game nomination and third as a Dodger. The reigning back-to-back National League MVP is having another stellar season with the Dodgers, batting .288 with 18 homers and 50 RBI and he is 8-2 with a 1.79 ERA in 14 starts this season. He ranks among the best in multiple MLB categories, including OPS (.927, 8th), slugging (.524, 16th), total bases (162, T-17th), extra base hits (35, T-28th), home runs (T-21st), runs (60, T-5th) and OBP (.403, 5th) while ranking among the top National League hurlers with 10+ starts in wins (T-10th), strikeouts (95, 14th) and ERA (2nd). The four-time MVP has been in the Major Leagues seven seasons and has slashed .282/.377/.578 with 298 homers and 719 RBI during his MLB career while posting a 47-22 record with a 2.83 ERA and 765 strikeouts across 114 career starts.

Freeman, 35, earns his 10th All-Star Game selection and fifth straight as a member of the Dodgers. He earns his sixth All-Star Game start of his career. In 86 games with the Dodgers, he is batting .293 with 14 homers and 47 RBI. The 2020 NL MVP is amongst the Major League leaders in various categories, including hits (95, T-9th), doubles (22, T-4th) extra-base hits (37, T-14th), batting average (15th), OBP (.383, 15th) and OPS (.880, 15th). Freeman is in his 17th Major League season and has amassed 381 homers and 1,369 RBI with a lifetime .299 batting average in 2,265 career games.

The 96th Midsummer Classic will be televised nationally by FOX Sports and in Canada by Rogers Sportsnet and worldwide by partners in more than 200 countries.
