Dodgers Recall Alex Freeland
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled infielder Alex Freeland and placed infielder/outfielder Kiké Hernández on the injured list with a left oblique strain.
Freeland, 24, returns for his second stint with the club after playing in 33 games, slashing .235/.309/.337 with two homers and eight RBI to begin the season with the Dodgers. He played in 11 games for Triple-A Oklahoma City, clubbing four homers and driving in 16. He debuted in 2025, notching two homers with six RBI in 29 games. He was drafted by Dodgers in the third round of the 2022 First Year Player Draft out of the University of Central Florida and has compiled a .257 batting average with an .805 OPS and 50 homers in 367 minor league games.
Hernández, 34, heads back to the injured list after exiting last night’s game with an oblique injury. He played in two games, going 4-for-4 with a homer and two doubles. He has played 922 games for the Dodgers, clubbing 96 homers with 322 RBI. He is in his 13th Major League season overall, having played with Houston (2014), Miami (2014), Los Angeles (2015-20, 2023-) and Boston (2021-23), slashing .237/.305/.405 with 131 homers and 472 RBI in 1,277 career games.
