Dodgers Recall Emmet Sheehan 

LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers recalled right-handed pitcher Emmet Sheehan and placed right-handed pitcher Edwin Díaz on the injured list with neck inflammation.

Sheehan, 26, returns after making two appearances for Triple-A Oklahoma City. He went 1-0 with a 2.84 ERA and eight strikeouts in 6.1 innings. With the Dodgers, he is 4-8 on the season with a career-high 20 starts, racking up 108 strikeouts in 95.1 innings and a 1.29 WHIP. He is in third season with the Dodgers, posting a 4.40 ERA with a 14-12 record in 48 games (43 starts). He was drafted by the Dodgers in the fifth round of the 2021 First Year Player Draft out of Boston College.

Díaz, 32, allowed three runs on five hits in one inning last night against Colorado. On the season, he is 2-2 with a 11.85 ERA in 16 games. The 10-year veteran is 30-38 in his career with a 3.06 ERA in 536 games. The three-time All-Star has 260 saves in 306 opportunities with 858 strikeouts. He was drafted in the third round of the 2012 First Year Player Draft out of Caguas Military Academy (PR).
