Top 5 Things to Know for Final Phillies Series of the Season

This weekend, the Phillies will host the New York Mets at Citizens Bank Park (September 29 - October 1), during the final series of the season. Below are some of the must-know highlights when coming to the ballpark.
Every day of the Phillies-Mets series, fans can bid on signed, new and game-used items in the Phillies Charities, Inc. auction through the Ballpark app until Sunday, October 1. Items will be on display at the First Base Gate Plaza during the game on Sunday.
On Saturday, September 30, Philadelphia 76ers center Richaun Holmes will throw out the ceremonial first pitch prior to the 7:05 p.m. Phillies-Mets game.
Plus, the Phillies are hosting a special pregame Phillies Paint Nite to benefit Dominic's Hero Fund.
Prior to Saturday's game, Claire Smith will be honored for her achievement of the 2017 J.G. Taylor Spink Award, voted by the Baseball Writers' Association of America (BBWAA). She is the first woman, and fourth African-American, to receive this award, the BBWAA's highest honor, presented annually since 1962 for "meritorious contributions to baseball writing." Smith was the first female baseball beat writer covering the Yankees, wrote for the New York Times and was an editor and columnist for the Philadelphia Inquirer. She is currently a news editor for ESPN.
Also happening on Saturday, the Phillies Charities' Clothier Grant in the amount of $10,000 will be presented on-field by Jerry's children, Amy Clothier Gaudion and Kelly Clothier Weston and his grandchildren. Named after Jerry Clothier, a respected executive and friend to all in the Phillies organization for more than 30 years, this grant will be presented to Breakthrough of Greater Philadelphia, a charity that works with talented students to support their college aspirations and inspires college students to pursue careers in education.

Plus, all fans will be given a PGW 2018 Schedule Fathead featuring Rhys Hoskins at the entrance gates and children 14 and under will receive a Phillies Phun Spinner.
Also on-field prior to Sunday's game, Richard Ashburn, the son of the late Phillies' Hall of Famer and broadcaster Richie Ashburn, will present Christopher Pohl, Phillies Director, Ticket Technology and Development, with the Richie Ashburn Special Achievement Award, presented annually to an employee who demonstrates the same loyalty, dedication and passion for baseball as the award's namesake.
Gate Openings: Ashburn Alley opens two hours prior to game time; all gates open one and a half hours prior to game time.
