Indians promote RHP Shawn Armstrong

The Cleveland Indians today announced the following roster moves relative to the 2016 Major League roster:
 
Recalled RHP SHAWN ARMSTRONG (#51) from Class-A Lake County.
 
Armstrong was optioned to Class A Lake County on August 31 to finish out the Minor League campaign. He appeared in 2 games for the Captains over the last week, tossing a pair of scoreless innings while striking out 5 of the 6 batters he faced. He spent most of the 2016 season in Triple-A Columbus, going 3-1 with 9 saves in 10 chances with a 1.84 ERA in 47 relief outings (49.0IP, 27H, 10ER, 0HR, 29BB, 72SO, .160 avg) and did not allow a run over his last 19 outings (20.0IP, 8H, 0R, 27SO). The Triple-A All-Star has been with Cleveland four times previously in 2016 (5/31; 8/3; 8/19, 8/28) and has allowed 1 run over three outings (3.2IP, 3H, 1R/ER, 2BB, 2SO).
 
The Major League roster now consists of 33 players.
