Los Angeles Dodgers and Kershaw’s Challenge To Host Back to School Bash Presented by General Mills at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium
LOS ANGELES – The Los Angeles Dodgers and Kershaw’s Challenge will come together to host the 2026 Back to School Bash presented by General Mills on Saturday, August 1 at 9 a.m. at UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium. The event marks the first official collaboration between the Dodgers and Clayton Kershaw, the retired pitcher and philanthropist behind Kershaw’s Challenge.
The inaugural Back to School Bash will provide essential resources to more than 1,500 students throughout the region, including backpacks and school supply kits to help students begin the academic year prepared, confident and ready to learn. The primary beneficiaries of this event will be the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation Dodgers Dreamteam participants and students from select Los Angeles Unified School District schools.
Beyond providing school essentials, the Back to School Bash will create a memorable experience for families with a live DJ, face painting, balloon artists and special appearances, as they prepare for the year ahead. Attendees will also receive non-perishable pantry food items including fan-favorite cereals like Honey Nut Cheerios and Cinnamon Toast Crunch, bars from Nature Valley and other home run favorites like Gushers, Fruit by the Foot and a treat from Pillsbury, courtesy of General Mills. Families can hit a Grand Slam with Sabor this school season.
Kershaw’s Challenge has long been a valued partner of the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation, working collaboratively to support vulnerable and at‑risk children and families throughout Los Angeles. This milestone event highlights that longstanding partnership and reaffirms an ongoing commitment to the youth and families that need it most across the region.
“Through this inaugural Back to School Bash, we officially kick off the partnership between the Los Angeles Dodgers and Kershaw’s Challenge and the next chapter in the storied legacy of community impact by Dodger great Clayton Kershaw,” said Kristin McCowan, Vice President of Government and Community Affairs for the Los Angeles Dodgers. “This event reflects our continued commitment to investing in youth and ensuring that students have access to the resources they need to succeed on and off the field.”
“The Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation is proud to welcome our Dodgers Dreamteam participants and their families to the Back to School Bash. We are excited to provide this opportunity for young people across Los Angeles to receive the resources they need to start the school year prepared, confident, and ready to succeed,” said Nichol McKenzie-Whiteman, Chief Executive Officer, Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. “This event reflects the power of partnership, and we are grateful to join Kershaw’s Challenge, the Los Angeles Dodgers and General Mills in investing in the success and well-being of youth throughout our community.”
“We are thrilled to kick off a new chapter with our friends, the Los Angeles Dodgers and the Los Angeles Dodgers Foundation. We love the city of L.A. and it is a joy to continue the work of Kershaw’s Challenge with such trusted partners. Saturday morning is the beginning of something new, yet familiar and nostalgic – we can’t wait to come ‘home’ to UNIQLO Field at Dodger Stadium. Backpacks, families and community – nothing better!” said Ellen and Clayton Kershaw, Kershaw’s Challenge Founders.
Presented by General Mills, the Back to School Bash emphasizes the importance of partnerships in addressing community needs and supporting youth and families across Los Angeles.
