Mariners acquire Minor League LHP Anthony Misiewicz from Tampa Bay

Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today from the MLB Winter Meetings that the Mariners have acquired left-handed pitcher Anthony Misiewicz from Tampa Bay in exchange for international slot money.
Misiewicz, 23, rejoins the Mariners after Seattle sent him along with minor league infielder Luis Rengifo to Tampa Bay in exchange for RHP Ryan Garton and C Mike Marjama on Aug. 6, 2017. In 28 combined starts between advanced-A Modesto, AA Arkansas and AA Montgomery (Tampa Bay) in 2017, the 6-foot-1, 190-pound left-hander went 11-6 with a 4.51 ERA (74 ER, 147.2 IP) with 141 strikeouts and 43 walks. Prior to the trade, he went 8-5 with a 4.75 (63 ER, 119.1 IP) in 23 starts between the Modesto Nuts and the Arkansas Travelers. Misiewicz was originally selected by the Mariners in the 18th round in the 2015 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Michigan State University. In 3 minor league seasons in the Mariners (2015-17) and Rays (2017) organizations, he is 21-18 with a 4.33 ERA (169 ER, 351.2 IP) with 296 strikeouts and 100 walks in 71 games, including 64 starts.
