Mariners Announce July Minor League Awards

SEATTLE – Seattle Mariners Director of Player Development Justin Toole announced today the following Mariners Minor League Award winners for the month of July:

• Adan Vallenilla, RHP – Pitcher of the Month
• Kelvin Alcantara, OF – Hitter of the Month
• Reid Easterly, LHP – Reliever of the Month
• Korbyn Dickerson, OF – Baserunner of the Month
• Ryan Bliss, INF – Defensive Player of the Month

Vallenilla, 20, posted a 1.53 ERA (3 ER, 17.2 IP) with 24 strikeouts, 7 walks and a 0.91 WHIP while holding batters to a .153 average (9x59) over 5 starts with the DSL Mariners in July. The right-hander tossed 3.0+ innings with 3-or-fewer hits allowed in 4 of his 5 starts this month and in 3 of those outings he did not allow an earned run.

In his first start of the month on July 2, the 5-foot-10 righty recorded 5.0 innings of work with no earned runs, 3 hits allowed, and 6 strikeouts, becoming 1-of-11 pitchers in the Dominican Summer League to record 1-or-more such starts this season. Among all DSL pitchers in July (min. 17 IP), he ranked 3^rd in total strikeouts (24), 12^th in ERA (1.53), and 14^th in WHIP (0.91) while his 12.23 strikeouts-per-nine innings in July ranked 2^nd among all Rookie League pitchers (min. 17 IP).

Vallenilla, an international free agent out of Venezuela, signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on February 13, 2026. He made his professional debut with the DSL Mariners on June 4^th. Over 9 starts with the DSL Mariners in 2026, the Venezuelan-born pitcher owns a 3.03 ERA (10 ER, 29.2 IP) with 40 strikeouts, 9 walks and a 1.08 WHIP.

Alcantara, 20, owned a .400 (20x50) batting average with 15 runs, 5 doubles, 5 home runs, and 15 RBI while reaching base at a .466 clip and slugging .800 for a 1.266 OPS over 16 games played with the ACL Mariners in July. The 6-foot, 156-pound outfielder recorded a hit in 11 of his 16 games played over the month, beginning July with a 5-game hit streak (7/2-7/7), over which he batted .500 (9x18) with 6 runs, 3 doubles, 2 homers, 6 RBI, a .550 OBP and a 1.000 SLG with 4 of the 5 games over the stretch being multi-hit efforts. Over the course of July, Alcantara recorded 6 multi-hit efforts and had 2 occasions in which he knocked 2 extra-base hits in a game on July 3 and July 22.

The lefty slugger ranked 6^th among all Rookie League batters in extra-base hits (10) and T-4^th in home runs (5) while he ranked 7^th in RBI (15), 5^th in runs scored (15), 4^th in hits (20), and owned the 2^nd-best slugging percentage (.800) and batting average (.400) among ACL batters (min. 50 AB) during the month of July. He put up his first career 4-hit outing on July 18, finishing 4-for-4 with a double, 2 RBI and a run scored. Alcantara continued his impact into the ACL League Semifinals, going 3-for-4 with a double and a run scored before the team fell to the ACL Reds by a 4-3 score. The 3-hit night was his 7^th multi-hit game of the month and his 2^nd with 3+ hits.

An international free agent born in Santiago, Dominican Republic, Alcantara signed a minor league contract with the Seattle Mariners on January 15, 2023. He went on to play the 2023 season with the DSL Mariners, putting up a .261 (30x115) batting average and a .411 OBP with 6 doubles, 1 triple, and 1 home run over 42 games in his first professional season. Alcantara joined the ACL Mariners prior to the 2024 season and has spent each of his last 3 seasons (2024-26) with the team, posting career-highs in hits (54), home runs (9), walks (31), batting average (.297), slugging percentage (.495) and OPS (.899) this season.

Easterly, 24, went 1-0 with 3 holds, a 0.57 ERA (1 ER, 15.2 IP), 14 strikeouts to 1 walk (14.0 K/BB), and a 0.83 WHIP over 7 relief appearances for High-A Everett during July. In each of his 7 relief appearances, the southpaw recorded 2.0+ innings of work, recording a perfect 2.0-innings in 2 appearances on July 10 and July 25.

In his July 22 appearance, Easterly matched his career-high 3.0 innings pitched (3x, last: 6/25 at EUG), allowing only 1 run (1 ER) on 3 hits. It was the only outing in which he allowed an earned run in July. The lefty reliever’s 15.2 innings pitched were tied for 4^th-most by a reliever in July. Among all pitchers with 10.0+ innings pitched during the month, his 0.57 ERA ranked 2^nd-lowest in High-A and 15^th in the Minor Leagues. He also ranked 2^nd in High-A in strikeout-to-walk-ratio (14.00) and 8^th in MiLB, while ranking 11^th in WHIP (0.83) among High-A pitchers (min. 10.0 IP).

Easterly signed a free agent contract with the Seattle Mariners on July 19, 2025 after becoming an undrafted free agent following 4 seasons of collegiate baseball played between Duke University (2025) and Yale University (2022-24). The 6-foot left-hander made his professional debut with the Modesto Nuts, the former Class-A affiliate of the Mariners, on August 29, 2025, making 3 relief appearances with the team before the end of the season. He was promoted to High-A Everett prior to the start of the 2026 season and has made 27 appearances with the AquaSox, posting a 2.86 ERA (16 ER, 50.1 IP).

Dickerson, 22, went 9-for-11 in stolen base attempts in the month of July. At the plate, he also batted .247 (19x77) with 15 runs scored, 4 doubles, 3 home runs, 10 RBI and 9 walks for a .348 on-base percentage across 21 games in July, splitting time between Class-A Inland Empire (12 games) and High-A Everett (9 games). On July 22, in just his 2^nd game with High-A Everett, he swiped two bags for his 3^rd career game with multiple stolen bases. His 6 stolen bases from July 20 (when he was promoted) to July 31 were tied for 2^nd-most in the Northwest League (3 others).

The Mariners No. 12 prospect (MLB Pipeline) began the season with Class-A Inland Empire, compiling a .276 batting average with 53 runs, 13 doubles, 2 triples, 9 homers, 36 RBI, 46 walks and 21 stolen bases over 77 games, before earning a promotion to High-A Everett following the All-Star Break. His 21 stolen bases with the 66ers prior to his promotion ranked T-11^th most in the California League at the time.

The Louisville, Kentucky native was selected by the Seattle Mariners in the 5^th round of the 2025 MLB First-Year Player Draft (152^nd overall). The 6-foot-1, 205-pound outfielder made his professional debut last season, hitting .429 (3x7) with a pair of runs, a double, 1 RBI and a walk over 2 games with Class-A Modesto.

Bliss, 26, made 20 starts for Triple-A Tacoma in July, splitting time between shortstop (10 G), second base (8 G), center field (1 G), and third base (1 G). He held a .988 fielding percentage over 80 total chances and 167.0 innings played, logging 30 putouts and 49 assists while executing 12 double plays and recording just 1 error in July. Across 78.0 innings at shortstop, he held a perfect 1.000 fielding percentage over 30 chances with 13 putouts, 17 assists and 4 double plays logged.

The 5-foot-7, 165-pound utilityman owns a .988 fielding percentage on 321 total chances with 117 putouts, 200 assists and just 3 errors this year in Triple-A, making appearances at second base (40 G), third base (10 G), short stop (32 G), left field (9 G) and center field (2 G).

The LaGrange, Georgia native was originally selected by the Arizona Diamondbacks in the 2^nd round of the 2021 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of Auburn University (AL) and was acquired by the Mariners, along with INF Josh Rojas, on July 31, 2023 in exchange for RHP Paul Sewald. Bliss has appeared in 47 Major League games, all with Seattle (2024-c), batting .208 (22x106) with 4 doubles, 1 triple, 3 homers, 13 RBI and 7 stolen bases with a .629 OPS.
