Mariners outright RHP Nick Rumbelow and RHP Mike Wright to AAA Tacoma

ARLINGTON, Tex. -- Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Jerry Dipoto announced today the following roster moves:

Nick Rumbelow, RHP, outrighted to AAA Tacoma.
Mike Wright, RHP, outrighted to AAA Tacoma.

Rumbelow, 27, was designated for assignment on May 17. He has not recorded a decision but has 1 save and has posted a 27.00 ERA (4 ER, 1.1 IP) in 3 games with the Mariners this season. After being optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on April 2 (post-game), he was 3-1 with a 9.19 ERA (16 ER, 15.2 IP) with 11 strikeouts and 10 walks in 13 relief appearances.

Rumbelow has appeared in the Majors with New York-AL (2015) and Seattle (2018-19) and is a combined 1-1 with a 5.97 ERA (23 ER, 34.2 IP) in 33 relief appearances. He was drafted by New York-AL in the 7th round of the 2013 amateur draft out of Louisiana State University. Rumbelow was acquired by the Mariners from the Yankees in exchange for minor leaguers JP Sears (lhp) and Juan Then (rhp) on Nov. 18, 2017.

Wright, 29, was designated for assignment on May 19. He was acquired by Seattle from Baltimore on April 24 after the Orioles designated him for assignment on April 21. With the Mariners, he did not record a decision, appearing in 7 games (11.0 IP) and allowing 11 ER (9.00 ERA). In 10 relief appearances with the Orioles this season, he was 0-1 with 1 save (2 opportunities) with a 9.45 ERA (14 ER, 13.1 IP) with 14 strikeouts and 7 walks.

Wright has appeared in parts of 5 Major League seasons with Baltimore (2015-19) and Seattle (2019), compiling a career record of 10-12 with 1 save and a 6.08 ERA (171 ER, 253.0 IP) with 205 strikeouts and 98 walks in 108 career games (23 starts). He made his Major League debut with the Orioles on May 17, 2015 vs. the Angels. He was originally selected by Baltimore in the 3rd round of the 2011 MLB First-Year Player Draft out of East Carolina University.
