Mariners Recall INF/OF Connor Joe from Triple-A Tacoma
SEATTLE – Seattle Mariners Executive Vice President & General Manager of Baseball Operations Justin Hollander announced today the following roster moves:
- Connor Joe, INF/OF, recalled from Triple-A Tacoma.
- Curtis Washington Jr., OF, optioned to High-A Everett (post-game June 16).
Joe, 33, has appeared in 18 games for Seattle this season, batting .182 (6x33) with 2 runs, 2 doubles, 1 home run, 3 RBI, 2 stolen bases and 6 walks. He was previously optioned to Triple-A Tacoma on May 22. In 24 games with Tacoma this season, he is hitting .242 (22x91) with 22 runs, 7 doubles, 2 home runs, 9 RBI and 9 walks.
The 5-foot-11, 205-pounder appeared with the Reds and Padres in the 2025 season, batting .186 (13x70) with 4 doubles, 4 RBI, 2 stolen bases and 7 walks in 42 games.
Joe was originally selected as the 39th overall pick in the 2014 MLB First Player Draft. He’s appeared in parts of 7 seasons in the Majors with San Francisco (2019), Colorado (2021-22), Pittsburgh (2023-24), Cincinnati (2025), San Diego (2025) and Seattle (2026).
Washington Jr., 26, was selected from High-A Everett yesterday. He is batting .190 (27x142) with 8 doubles, 7 home runs, 22 RBI, 14 stolen bases and 17 walks in 44 games for Everett this season.
The 6-foot-2, 180-pound outfielder has appeared in center and left field, and as the designated hitter this season for the Aquasox. Washington Jr. hit for the cycle on May 23, 2025 going 5-for-6 with 2 doubles, 1 triple and a home run with Single-A Modesto last season.
The West Memphis Native was originally drafted by Seattle in the 19th round of the 2022 MLB First-Year Player Draft. Overall, he is batting .219 (184x840) with 37 doubles, 8 triples, 12 home runs, 97 RBI, 82 stolen bases and 95 walks in 5 minor league seasons with the Seattle organization.
