Miami Marlins Draft signings -- Update 3

MIAMI – The Miami Marlins today announced two additional signings from the club’s 2019 Draft class. Miami has now signed 22 of its 41 Draft picks, including nine of its top-12 selections.

Today’s signings include RHP Evan Fitterer (Round 5, #141 overall) out of Aliso Niguel High School from Aliso Viejo, California. Fitterer, 18, was ranked as the 60th overall prospect in the 2019 First-Year Player Draft by Baseball America. In his senior campaign, he went 9-1 with a 0.97 ERA and 82 strikeouts in 11 appearances.

Miami also announced the signing of OF Tevin Mitchell (Round 8, #231 overall), who was selected out of the University of California – Santa Barbara. Mitchell was a four-year letterwinner and a 2019 All-Big West Honorable Mention selection. He batted .277 (51x184) in his senior campaign, with five home runs and 37 RBI in 54 games. His 20 stolen bases this season were tied for most in the Big West Conference.
