MUNETAKA MURAKAMI AND CHICAGO WHITE SOX CHARITIES HOLD SPECIAL ONLINE AUCTION TO SUPPORT ALL-STAR’S HOMETOWN AFTER RECENT EARTHQUAKE
CHICAGO – To support All-Star first baseman Munetaka Murakami’s efforts to aid those affected by the recent earthquake in Kumamoto, Japan, Chicago White Sox Charities will hold a special online auction to help fund recovery services in his hometown. Fans can participate by bidding beginning Tuesday, August 4, at whitesox.com/auction.
Proceeds from the auction will benefit organizations supporting emergency response and long-term recovery work in the areas affected by the earthquake. The auction will feature a collection of items, including game-used equipment and autographed memorabilia.
The online auction includes:
- Autographed game-used cap
- Autographed game-used jersey
- Two sets of autographed game-used batting gloves
- Autographed bat
- Autographed baseball
- Autographed Tadahito Iguchi jersey
In addition, Murakami privately has made arrangements to support relief efforts directly in Kumamoto.
