NBC Sports Chicago to televise 17 Class AAA Charlotte games

NBC Sports Chicago, the Chicago White Sox cable rights holder, will broadcast 17 Class AAA Charlotte Knights games during the 2018 season, marking the second consecutive season the network will carry Charlotte games (14 in 2017).
NBC Sports Chicago will televise the first of its Knights telecasts on Monday, March 26 with a preseason exhibition contest vs. the White Sox at BB&T Ballpark (5:05 p.m. CT). The game will air live on NBC Sports Chicago+.
Every Charlotte telecast on NBC Sports Chicago will be streamed on NBCSportsChicago.com/WatchLive and will be made available via the NBC Sports app on tablets and smart phones. All games will be broadcasted in high definition.
All telecasts will feature Knights play-by-play announcer Matt Swierad, who enters his 21st season as the voice of Knights baseball. Loren Hibbs, Jeff McCarragher and Mike Pacheco will join Swierad in the booth throughout the season. Hibbs currently is the head baseball coach of the Charlotte 49ers; McMarragher begins his second season as a Knights broadcaster; and Pacheco enters his 14th season with Charlotte.
The White Sox Minor League system was rated by MLB.com as the third-best in baseball. The Sox currently have seven players ranked in MLB.com's Top 100 Prospect List, including Eloy Jiménez (No. 4), Michael Kopech (No.10), Luis Robert (No. 28), Alec Hansen (No. 54), Dylan Cease (No. 61), Dane Dunning (No. 92) and Blake Rutherford (No. 99).
Baseball America ranks the Sox system as the fourth-best and features five players in its Top 100 rankings: Jiménez (No. 4), Kopech (No. 11), Hansen (No. 57), Robert (No. 58) and Dunning (No. 82).
