Reds host “Peanut Butter Jam” Food Drive - April 26
The Cincinnati Reds and the Hope Emergency Program food bank are teaming up for the second annual “Peanut Butter Jam” food drive on Sunday, April 26 at Great American Ball Park when the Reds take on the Detroit Tigers at 1:40 p.m.
Fans who bring plastic jars of peanut butter (16 oz) to donate on April 26 will receive one free View Level ticket to an upcoming Reds home game for each jar donated.
“Giving back is always more fun when Reds Country gets involved,” said Karen Forgus Bowman, Reds Chief Communications and Community Officer. “When fans show up with jars of peanut butter, they’re not just coming to enjoy a game — they’re helping us make a real impact for families who need it. That kind of generosity is what makes this community special.”
Donations will be accepted from 11:40 a.m. to 2 p.m. outside the ballpark’s main entrance on Joe Nuxhall Way. Signs will direct fans to a refrigerated vehicle collecting the donations.
The inaugural “Peanut Butter Jam” held last September collected more than 600 jars of peanut butter to help families in need.
Peanut butter is one of the most requested items at many food pantries because it is a shelf-stable, protein-rich food that has a variety of uses and is popular with people of all ages.
The “Peanut Butter Jam” supports Realizing the Dream, a five-year community service initiative designed to inspire youth, educators, and communities to complete 100 million hours of service by 2029, honoring the 100th anniversary of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s birth.
