Phillies agree to terms with Stott

Shortstop Bryson Stott, selected 14th overall by the Phillies in the first round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft, has agreed to terms with the club, the Phillies announced today.

Stott, 21, slashed .356/.486/.599 with 20 doubles, two triples, 10 home runs, 36 RBI, 65 runs, 55 walks and 16 stolen bases during his junior season at the University of Nevada, Las Vegas. He was selected as a finalist for the Brooks Wallace Award, recognizing the nation’s top college shortstop, a semifinalist for the Golden Spikes Award and was named Mountain West’s Tony Gwynn Co-Player of the Year and a Third Team All-American by Collegiate Baseball. He batted .340 with 83 extra-base hits over 171 games in his collegiate career.

The club has come to terms with each of its top 10 selections, 27 of the top 29, and 31 of the 39 selections overall.

Additionally, the Phillies have come to terms with nine non-drafted free agents: right-handers Aidan Anderson, Albertus Barber, Tyler Burch and Connor Hinchcliffe, left-handers Brenden Kudlinski, Brian Marconi and Riley Wilson and shortstops Sal Gozzo and Kervin Pichardo.
