Pirates Acquire Right-Handed Pitcher Andrew Moore From San Diego

The Pittsburgh Pirates tonight acquired right-handed pitcher Andrew Moore from San Diego (he was assigned to Triple-A Indianapolis), in exchange for right-handed pitcher Hunter Stratton.

The 26-year-old Moore has posted a combined 3.46 ERA (39.0ip/15er), 62 strikeouts and a .160 batting average against (21-for-131) across his 30 minor league appearances split between San Antonio (Padres’ Double-A) and El Paso (Padres’ Triple-A) this season.

Moore, who was originally selected by Seattle out of Chipola (FL) College in the 14th round of the 2021 First Year Player Draft, has posted a combined 4.43 ERA (225.1ip/111er), 341 strikeouts and a .204 batting average against in 163 career minor league appearances (two starts) while pitching in the Seattle (2021-22), Cincinnati (2022-25) and San Diego (2025-26) organizations.
