Pirates Announce 2026 Spring Training Schedule
The Pittsburgh Pirates today released their spring training schedule for the 2026 Grapefruit League
season. The schedule includes a total of 31 games, 16 of which will be played at LECOM Park in
Bradenton, Florida.
The Pirates will open up their 2026 spring schedule with a trip to Sarasota to take on Baltimore on
February 21. Pittsburgh’s Home Opener will be played on February 22 vs. Tampa Bay.
Additional highlights of the 2026 spring training schedule include:
• February 23: The Pirates will host New York (AL) for the only time.
• February 28-March 1: The Pirates will make an overnight trip to Florida’s east coast for games
against Houston (February 28) and St. Louis (March 1), marking their first trip to the east coast since
playing Washington at Viera’s Space Coast Stadium on March 2, 2006, and their first overnight trip to
the east coast since playing Montréal at Jupiter’s Roger Dean Stadium from March 31-April 1, 2000.
• March 3: The Pirates will host Team Colombia in their fourth all-time matchup against a World
Baseball Classic team (also Netherlands in 2009, Spain in 2013 and Dominican Republic in 2017).
• March 5: The Pirates will welcome St. Louis to Bradenton, marking their first time hosting the
Cardinals for a spring training game since March 29, 1998 (St. Louis’ first season training in Jupiter).
• March 17: The Pirates will host Houston in Bradenton for the first time since March 6, 2016.
• March 23: The Pirates will host Atlanta at LECOM Park in the Grapefruit League finale.
In addition to the 31-game spring training schedule, Pittsburgh’s Spring Breakout Game will take place
against Detroit on March 20 at LECOM Park.
