Pirates Announce Seven Non-Roster Invitees

The Pittsburgh Pirates today announced that right-handed pitcher Beau Burrows, outfielder Dominic Fletcher, left-handed pitcher Joe La Sorsa, left-handed pitcher Oddanier Mosqueda (pronounced “oh dahn-YAIR” “moh-SKAY-duh”), right-handed pitcher Noah Murdock, outfielder Ronny Simon and infielder Davis Wendzel will attend 2026 Major League camp as non-roster invitees.

Burrows went a combined 3-3 with nine saves, a 2.94 ERA (49.0ip/16er), 49 strikeouts, a .158 batting average against and a 0.90 WHIP across his 37 appearances (one start) split between Low-A Bradenton, High-A Greensboro, Double-A Altoona and Triple-A Indianapolis last season. The 29-year-old has also tossed 17.2 innings in 11 Major League appearances (one start) with Detroit (2020-21) and Minnesota (2021).

Fletcher appeared in 12 games with Chicago (AL) last season, but he spent most of the season with Charlotte (White Sox’ Triple-A), where he batted .260 (105-for-404) with 19 doubles, 17 home runs and 68 RBI across 105 games. He ranked fourth among all Chicago full-season minor leaguers in slugging (.453). The 28-year-old Fletcher played in 72 games with the White Sox in 2024. He debuted with Arizona in 2023, where he batted .301 (28-for-93) with five doubles, two home runs and 14 RBI over 28 big-league games.

La Sorsa made five appearances (6.2ip) with Cincinnati in 2025, but he spent the majority of the year in the minors, where he went a combined 3-2 with a 2.59 ERA (48.2ip/14er), 44 strikeouts and a .197 batting average against in 49 appearances split between Louisville (Reds’ Triple-A) and Syracuse (Mets’ Triple-A). His 49 outings were tied for the sixth-most in the International League. The 27-year-old La Sorsa has pitched in 46 career Major League games with Tampa Bay (2023), Washington (2023-24) and Cincinnati (2025).

Mosqueda spent all of 2025 with Memphis (Cardinals’ Triple-A), where he went 5-5 with two saves, a 4.52 ERA (65.2ip/33er) and 68 strikeouts in 55 games. His 55 outings led the International League and ranked second among all pitchers in Minor League Baseball. The 26-year-old Mosqueda also made 55 appearances with Scranton/Wilkes-Barre (Yankees’ Triple-A) in 2024, which were tied for the sixth-most in all of Triple-A.

Murdock had 21 strikeouts in 17.0 innings with the Athletics in 2025 after being selected from Kansas City in the 2024 Rule 5 Draft. The 27-year-old, who has made 133 minor league appearances in six seasons, was returned to the Royals in May and pitched for Triple-A Omaha until his season was cut short by injury in July.

Simon hit .233 (7-for-30) in eight games with Pittsburgh last season after being claimed off waivers from Miami on June 2. He underwent left shoulder labral surgery in October after dislocating the shoulder in a game on August 29 at Fenway Park. The 25-year-old also appeared in 19 games with the Marlins in 2025.

Wendzel spent the majority of 2025 with Louisville, where he hit 13 home runs and had 53 RBI in 94 games (he also played in four rehab games with the Reds’ High-A affiliate in Dayton). The 28-year-old was acquired by Cincinnati from Texas in July 2024 after appearing in 27 games with the Rangers earlier that season.
