The Pittsburgh Pirates today claimed outfielder Will Robertson off waivers from the Chicago White Sox. Infielder/outfielder Ryan Kreidler has been designated for assignment to make room for Robertson on the 40-man roster, which remains full.

The 27-year-old Robertson made his Major League debut in 2025, recording nine RBI in 27 total games between Toronto (three games) and Chicago (24 games). He made 19 combined appearances (16 starts) in left field, five appearances (four starts) in right field and one appearance in center field during his time in the big leagues.

Robertson hit .289 (87-for-301) with 21 doubles, two triples, 20 home runs, 60 RBI, 48 walks, 58 runs scored and a .958 OPS in 89 games between Triple-A Buffalo and Triple-A Charlotte in 2025.

Robertson was originally selected by the Blue Jays in the fourth round of the 2019 First-Year Player Draft and went on to play in 501 minor-league games in the organization from 2019-25. He was designated for assignment on July 6 before being acquired by the White Sox on July 10.
