A’s Acquire RHP Lucas Erceg from Milwaukee for Cash Considerations

OAKLAND, Calif. — The Oakland A’s have acquired right-handed pitcher Lucas Erceg from the Milwaukee Brewers in exchange for cash considerations, the club announced today.

Erceg, 28, was originally drafted in the second round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft as an infielder. Erceg converted to the mound partway through 2021 and is 5-2 with a save and a 4.28 ERA in 46 games at the Triple-A level spanning 54.2 innings of work. Overall, he is 8-11 with a 5.07 ERA in 84 career minor league appearances. Before converting, Erceg spent five seasons splitting time between third base and first base. He hit .256 with a .735 OPS in 503 games.
