Atlanta Braves Name Jarquesse “Bam” Ellis the 2026 Walter Banks Hospitality Award Recipient
Ellis becomes the tenth recipient of this prestigious staff award
The Atlanta Braves and Walter Banks have named Jarquesse “Bam” Ellis as the 2026 Walter Banks Hospitality Award recipient. Established in 2017, this prestigious award is given annually to an Atlanta Braves staff member who exemplifies extraordinary guest service in the mold of longtime Braves employee Walter Banks. Ellis will be recognized and celebrated in a special on-field presentation ahead of tonight’s Braves game against the Cincinnati Reds.
Ellis began working for the Braves in 2016, during his Junior year at Cedar Grove High School in Ellenwood, Georgia. He was promoted to Upper Level 1st Base Usher Supervisor in May 2018 and was honored as the Guest Services Usher Diamond Honoree of the Year in 2021. Now in his 11th season with the Braves, he is also currently employed full-time as a Security Officer for the Georgia State University Police Division.
