Blue Jays celebrate Canada Day Weekend at Rogers Centre featuring a doubleheader on Saturday, July 2
Canada Day Weekend at Rogers Centre makes its much-anticipated return beginning on Friday, July 1 (3:07 p.m.) when the Blue Jays take on the division-rival Tampa Bay Rays, followed by a two-game split doubleheader on Saturday, July 2 (12:07 p.m. and 6:07 p.m.). Tickets are available now at bluejays.com/tickets.
Fans spending the long weekend in the city will be treated to Canadian-themed festivities throughout the ballpark and two exciting giveaways for the first 15,000 fans: on Friday, a George Springer Red Replica Jersey and for the 12:07 p.m. game on Saturday, a Vlad & Dad Dual Bobblehead.
To recognize his impact on Canadian baseball, Friday’s pregame ceremonies will honour four-time All-Star catcher and former Blue Jay, Russell Martin, including a ceremonial first pitch. Born in East York, ON, and raised in Montreal, Martin played 1,693 MLB games during 14 seasons (including four with the Blue Jays), the fourth most by a Canadian, before announcing his retirement this past May. On the international stage, Martin represented his home nation on three occasions, including the 2009 World Baseball Classic.
