Blue Jays roster moves, Aug. 11, 2019

The TORONTO BLUE JAYS have selected RHP NEIL RAMÍREZ to the Major League roster and he will be active for today’s game. To make room on the 25-man roster, RHP JASON ADAM has been optioned to Triple-A Buffalo. To make room on the 40-man roster, LHP RYAN BORUCKI has been transferred to the 60-day injured list.

RAMÍREZ, 30, posted a 0-1 record with a 5.40 ERA across 16 relief appearances for Cleveland this season, striking out 18 batters in 16.2 innings pitched. The 6-4, 215 lb. right-handed pitcher was signed by the Blue Jays to a minor league deal on August 6 after being released by the Indians four days earlier. He was selected in the first round (44th overall) by the Texas Rangers in the 2007 First-Year Player Draft. The Virginia Beach, VA, native owns a career record of 4-8 with a 4.41 ERA and a 1.41 WHIP in six seasons with six different teams.
