Brewers Honored With The Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation's Award of Excellence

MILWAUKEE – The Milwaukee Brewers announced today that the Club has been selected to receive the prestigious Award of Excellence at the 35th annual Vince Lombardi Cancer Foundation Award of Excellence Dinner, taking place this evening at The Pfister Hotel. The organization is deeply honored to be recognized for its longstanding commitment to advancing cancer research, awareness and community impact throughout Wisconsin.

Presented annually, the award honors individuals or organizations whose dedication and pursuit of excellence reflect the enduring legacy of Coach Vince Lombardi. The Brewers were unanimously selected for their ongoing, wide‑reaching efforts to support cancer research and awareness through collaborations with healthcare partners, community organizations, players, coaches and fans. Roger Caplinger, former Vice President – Medical Operations, Health and Safety, will accept the Award of Excellence on behalf of the Milwaukee Brewers.

In 2025, the Milwaukee Brewers and Brewers Community Foundation supported hundreds of local nonprofits, investing in health, education, recreation and basic needs throughout the state.

The Milwaukee Brewers are also proud to share that Cecelia Gore, Executive Director – Brewers Community Foundation, will be individually recognized with the Champion for a Cure Award. Introduced last year, the award honors leaders who embody exceptional dedication in the fight against cancer.

Under Gore’s leadership, Brewers Community Foundation has championed local nonprofits focused on health, education, recreation and basic needs, with a particular emphasis on supporting low‑income and disadvantaged youth and families.

Gore will personally accept the Champion for a Cure Award this evening at the event.
