Brewers Sign Luis Rengifo

PHOENIX - The Milwaukee Brewers have signed infielder Luis Rengifo (rehn-HEE-foh) to a one-year contract with a mutual option for 2027. The announcement was made by President of Baseball Operations and General Manager Matt Arnold.

Rengifo, who turns 29 on February 26, has spent his entire Major League career with the Los Angeles Angels (2019-25). He is a career .250/.307/.382 hitter with 62 HR, 230 RBI and 52 SB in 673 games. He has made starts at six different defensive positions, including second base (341g), third base (156g), shortstop (76g), right field (21g), left field (5g) and center field (3g).

The switch-hitter batted .238/.287/.335 with 9 HR, 43 RBI and 10 SB in a career-high 147 games last season with the Angels. He made 133 starts (68g at 2B, 63g at 3B, 1g in RF, 1g at DH). He was a Gold Glove finalist at second base last season and at utility in 2022.
