Roster moves

The Pittsburgh Pirates placed outfielder Bryan Reynolds and infielder/outfielder Cole Tucker on the COVID-19 injured list.

Outfielder Jack Suwinski and infielder/outfielder Tucupita Marcano have both been recalled from Double-A Altoona.

In 13 games with Altoona this season, the 23-year-old Suwinski has hit .353 (18-for-51) with eight doubles, three home runs, 13 RBI, a .421 OBP and a 1.107 OPS. He is currently riding a nine-game hitting streak, going 15-for-34 (.441) with seven doubles, two homers and 10 RBI in the nine games. Suwinski has made all 11 defensive appearances in right field with the Curve this season. Acquired from the Padres last year on 7/26 along with Marcano and pitcher Michell Miliano in exchange for infielder Adam Frazier, the left-handed hitting Suwinski has played all three outfield positions during his minor league career.

Suwinski has no big league experience and will be wearing uniform #65.

The 22-year-old Marcano has hit .250 (9-for-36) with a homer and two RBI in 11 games with Altoona this season while making nine starts in left field and two at second base.

Marcano made his Major League debut with San Diego in 2021 and hit .182 (8-for-44) with three RBI in 25 games. He made eight appearances at second base, four in left field, four in right field and one at third base while playing with the Padres last season.

Marcano will be wearing uniform #30.
