Chicago White Sox team up with Mache for first official collaboration on White Sox-inspired sneakers
CHICAGO – The Chicago White Sox have joined forces with renowned footwear designer, Dan “Mache” Gamache, designing a limited edition and first-of-its-kind sneaker, the White Sox “Mache Runner.”
The “Mache Runner” is set to release at an exclusive event on Wednesday, July 27 from 4-7 p.m. at Guaranteed Rate Field. Registration for the pop-up event is required at whitesox.com/shoe as only a limited amount of pairs will be available for purchase.
While he was born in New York, Mache is a lifelong White Sox fan who grew up idolizing franchise legends Bo Jackson, Jack McDowell and Frank Thomas. He gained national prominence for his custom designs and unique sneaker collaborations. Over the years, he has become a go-to artist for several iconic brands, including footwear industry leaders, as well as global sports and entertainment organizations like MLB, NBA, NFL and WWE.
Mache’s design captures the aesthetic of the South Side and features a “designer’s design” with pinstripes to reflect the Sox home uniforms, contrast with grey for the away uniforms, and black for the Southside alternate uniforms. The sneaker is accented with baseball red stitching along the sides.
The White Sox “Mache Runner” will be available for $325 exclusively at the sneaker release at the ballpark. Following the event, the sneakers will be available for pre-order at machecustoms.com.
