In back-to-back seasons, the White Sox Game Changers series has supported and empowered Chicago’s underrepresented communities by showcasing compelling stories about sports and culture through the work of local artists who identify within the African American, Asian American and Pacific Islander (AAPI) and Latino communities. Following mural pieces created in 2021 by artists Asend™️, Edo and Murrz, this year’s artwork – created on pieces of the game – included home plate and base designs by Jeff Pak, Nikko Washington and MATR.

Since 2016, the Game Changers series has featured leading community voices in panel events and virtual discussions focused on creating meaningful change and empowering diverse community groups. Event programming has included “Latinos Reshaping the Sports Journalism Industry,” “The Legacy of Chicago’s Negro Leagues,” and “A Real Conversation on Challenges and Wins for Women Working in Sports,” among others.
