Colorado Rockies agree to terms with right-handed pitcher Alex Colomé

SCOTTSDALE – The Colorado Rockies announced today that they have agreed to terms with right-handed pitcher Alex Colomé on a one-year contract that covers the 2022 season. To make room on the 40-man roster, right-handed pitcher Scott Oberg has been placed on the 60-day injured list.

Colomé, 33, went 4-4 with 17 saves and a 4.15 ERA (65.0 IP, 30 ER) in 67 appearances for Minnesota in 2021 after signing a one-year contract with the club on Feb. 12, 2021 … went 2-4 with two saves and a 4.83 ERA (31.2 IP, 17 ER) in 34 appearances in the first half and 2-0 with 15 saves and a 3.51 ERA (33.1 IP, 13 ER) in 33 second-half appearances … led the American League and ranked third in all of baseball in saves from Aug. 1 through the end of the season, going 15-for-18 in save opportunities … has recorded 10-plus saves in each of the past six seasons, ranking fourth in the Majors with 155 saves over that span … was named an American League All-Star in 2017, going on to lead the Majors with 47 saves that year … in 393 career appearances across parts of nine seasons with Minnesota (2021), Chicago-AL (2019-20), Seattle (2018) and Tampa Bay (2013-18), has gone 32-27 with 155 saves and a 3.11 ERA (489.0 IP, 169 ER) … the Santo Domingo, D.R. native was originally signed by Tampa Bay as a non-drafted international free agent on March 20, 2007.
