Colorado Rockies announce non-roster players for 2022 Spring Training

DENVER — The Colorado Rockies announced today the club’s non-roster invitations to 2022 Major League Spring Training. Below is the current list of all 10 players, by position.

Of the 10 total non-roster invites, seven have joined the Rockies from different organizations: Ty Blach (Baltimore), JD Hammer (Philadelphia), Kyle Holder (New York-AL), Zach Lee (Cincinnati), Tim Lopes (Milwaukee), Carlos Pérez (Oakland) and Scott Schebler (Los Angeles-AL). Schebler (3.086), Pérez (2.167), Blach (2.065), Lopes (1.149), Hammer (0.143) and Lee (0.026) have all appeared in the Major Leagues.

Three non-roster invitees finished the 2021 season in the Rockies organization: Boswell, Griep and Serven. Both Boswell (eighth round, 2017) and Serven (fifth round, 2016) were originally drafted by the Rockies and have spent their entire professional careers in the Colorado organization. Hammer was drafted by Colorado in the 24th round of the 2016 First-Year Player Draft and pitched for parts of two seasons in the Rockies system before being traded by Colorado to Philadelphia on July 26, 2017.

Denver native Blach, a graduate of Regis Jesuit High School, is attending his first Spring Training with the Rockies.
