Curaçao and Nicaragua named two invited countries to join Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico and Venezuela in 2024 Serie Del Caribe as the passion and energy of international baseball returns to loanDepot park

MIAMI – Before Serie del Caribe arrives in Miami in 2024, loanDepot park – the Home of Béisbol – will once again be the host site for the international baseball party with Serie del Caribe Celebration on Saturday, April 29. Adding to the festivities, the event marks the first gathering of the six participating teams in 2024 Serie del Caribe (Caribbean Series) at loanDepot park – Dominican Republic, Mexico, Puerto Rico, Venezuela and the two invited teams, Curaçao and Nicaragua.

Prior to the game, an introductory press conference will be held at loanDepot park with representatives from the two invited teams, Curaçao and Nicaragua. Additionally, a special pre-game, on-field ceremony will be held to recognize the six teams, with Hall of Famer Vladimir Guerrero Sr. and 11-time Gold Glove winner Omar Vizquel throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.

“International baseball brings an unmatched energy and passion that we are excited to experience once again in 2024 as the first MLB venue to host the Serie del Caribe,” said Marlins Chief Commercial Officer David Oxfeld. “In addition to the incredible atmosphere seen at the World Baseball Classic and each Saturday at our Heritage Celebrations, we are excited to get the party started and reveal the final two participating teams for the upcoming tournament.”

Fans who purchase the special ticket package for the celebration will receive a commemorative Serie del Caribe Celebration Marlins T-shirt and early access to tickets to the tournament in 2024. The celebration includes various photo opportunities on the left field concourse of the Promenade Level, including one with the championship trophy. The party continues with post-game entertainment presented by Hard Rock featuring a live performance by Grupo Karisma, a local Dominican band that will have fans dancing to the best merengue hits.

Many current All-Stars and Hall of Famers have taken the field for Serie Del Caribe games, including Jose Altuve, Ronald Acuna, Jr., Luis Arraez, David Ortiz, Salvador Perez, Tony Perez, Iván Rodríguez, Fernando Valenzuela and many more. In 2023, Tigres del Licey (Dominican Republic) claimed their 11th Serie del Caribe championship.
