D-backs claim J.B. Wendelken off waivers from A’s
The Arizona Diamondbacks made the following roster move:
Claimed RHP J.B. Wendelken (@jbWendelken) off waivers from the Oakland A’s. Career stats
- Designated for assignment by the A’s on Aug. 10.
- Was 2-1 with a 4.32 ERA (12 ER in 25.0 IP) and 26 strikeouts in 26 relief appearances with Oakland this season…posted a 2.61 ERA (3 ER in 10.1 IP) in his first 13 outings.
- In 21 games with the A’s last season, was 1-1 with a 1.80 ERA (5 ER in 25.0 IP), 31 strikeouts, 1.12 WHIP and .183 opponent average…he also appeared in 4 postseason games with a 3.86 ERA (2 ER in 4.2 IP).
- Went 6-3 with a 3.62 ERA (45 ER in 112.0 IP) and 117 strikeouts in 95 career Major League appearances with Oakland from 2016-21…missed the 2017 season due to Tommy John surgery.
- Selected by the Boston Red Sox in the 13th round of the 2012 draft out of Middle Georgia State.
