D-backs recall Jimmie Sherfy from Triple-A Reno

PHOENIX — The Arizona Diamondbacks recalled RHP Jimmie Sherfy from Triple-A Reno. The D-backs now have 32 players on their active roster.

Sherfy, 27, has made 5 appearances over 3 stints with the D-backs this season, posting a 0.93 ERA (1 ER in 9.2 IP) with 9 strikeouts. Overall, he has held opponents scoreless in 28 of 31 career outings over parts of 3 seasons with the D-backs (2017-19), posting a 0.98 ERA (4 ER in 36.2 IP), .189 opponent average and 35 strikeouts.

Sherfy made 35 appearances for the Aces in 2019, going 2-3 with 12 saves, a 3.60 ERA (14 ER in 35.0 IP), .241 opponent average and 49 strikeouts. He is Reno’s all-time leader with 59 saves and ranks second with 141 appearances, behind only Joe Paterson (152).
