Daniels undergoes wrist surgery

HOUSTON, TX – Houston Astros outfielder prospect Zach Daniels had the hook of the hamate bone removed from his left wrist this morning, General Manager Dana Brown announced today. As a result of the surgery, Daniels will miss approximately six to eight weeks.

Before the injury, Daniels played in four games with Double A Corpus Christi, batting .385 (5x13) with 2 doubles, 1 RBI and a .923 OPS this season. Daniels was drafted in the fourth round of the 2020 First Year Player MLB Draft from the University of Tennessee.
