Dodgers To Host Rockies, Giants As They Close In On Division Title

LOS ANGELES – The first-place Los Angeles Dodgers, who have the best record in the National League, return home Labor Day Monday, and will take on the Colorado Rockies (Sept. 2-4) and San Francisco Giants (Sept. 6-8) during their six-game homestand. Los Angeles enters play tonight with a magic number of nine in pursuit of a seventh consecutive NL West title, and could clinch a division title during the homestand.

The homestand opener will have a special 5:10 p.m. Labor Day start time, and the Dodgers will host City of Long Beach Night as well as members of the Navy on Monday in honor of Fleet Week. Tuesday will mark Hello Kitty Night (more information: Dodgers.com/HelloKitty) and on Wednesday night, the Dodgers will celebrate Tommy Lasorda Bobblehead Night presented by State Farm.

The Giants will make their final trip of the season to Dodger Stadium next weekend, and the Dodgers will recognize retiring manager Bruce Bochy prior to Friday’s series opener. The series includes Friday Night Fireworks presented by Denny’s and the opportunity for kids to run the bases Sunday, when the team will also give away a tote bag presented by MLB Network. The Dodgers will also host students, alumni and fans of local universities over the weekend with Cal State Fullerton Night (Friday), Cal State Northridge Night (Saturday) and Cal State San Bernardino Day (Sunday).
