D-backs’ Gub’nuh Greg Schulte Approaches Final Games As Incredible 26-Year Career with the Team Culminates

Greg Schulte, the beloved radio voice of the D-backs for 26 seasons, is announcing his final regular season games September 29-October 1 as his retirement nears at the end of the 2023 season. Schulte joined the Arizona Diamondbacks organization in the 1998 inaugural season and has served as the D-backs’ Radio Play-by-Play Announcer for the past 26 years.

Schulte’s career will be celebrated on Arizona Sports 98.7 with a two-hour special on Wednesday, September 27 from 5-7 p.m., hosted by Dave Burns. In addition to 98.7 FM, the special can also be heard on arizonasports.com and the Arizona Sports app.

The D-backs will celebrate Schulte with a special pregame ceremony on Friday, September 29, including a gift presentation and throwing out the ceremonial first pitch.

Schulte grew up in Silvis, Ill., population 3,000, a part of the Quad-Cities. He and his wife, Nancy, reside in the Valley and have two children, Scott and Stephanie.
