James Outman of the Los Angeles Dodgers named the National League Rookie of the Month for April; Josh Jung of the Texas Rangers named the American League Rookie of the Month for April

Outfielder James Outman of the Los Angeles Dodgers has been voted the National League Rookie of the Month for April, and third baseman Josh Jung of the Texas Rangers has been voted the American League Rookie of the Month for April.

Outman became the first Dodgers rookie to win a monthly award since Cody Bellinger in back-to-back months in May and June of his 2017 NL Jackie Robinson Rookie of the Year Award-winning season. Jung is the first Rangers rookie to take home monthly honors since his teammate Adolis García in May 2021.

Others receiving votes for AL Rookie of the Month included starting pitcher Hunter Brown (3-0, 2.37 ERA, 5 GS, 30.1 IP, 22 H, 10 BB, 32 SO) of the Houston Astros; reliever Yennier Cano (0.00 ERA, 9 G, 2 SV, 11.0 IP, 0 H, 0 BB, 12 SO) of

the Baltimore Orioles; outfielder Masataka Yoshida (.276, 4 2B, 4 HR, 16 RBI, 12 BB, 2 SB, 15 R, .460 SLG) of the Boston

Red Sox; and first baseman Ryan Noda (.239, 4 2B, 3 HR, 6 RBI, 18 BB, 1 SB, 16 R, .400 OBP) of the Oakland Athletics.
